Spruce up your style with these timeless and unique fashion statement pieces. Nothing too drastic, but a little bit of dazzle has never hurt anyone. So be prepared to embark on a season of fanciful frills, delicate pastel hues and lots of BOHO contemporary designs.

1. Sheer Couture
Add a feminine note to any look with one of the more risqué of the season’s stand-out trends. From runways, to celebrities faux pas, this look has trickled into mainstream and is not always easy to master. Are you ready to put it all on display? If you wish to don one of the latest looks by Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Helmut Lang, Maison Margiela, Missoni, Paco Rabanne or Sonia Rykiel, take baby steps and don’t mix styles…you have been warned! See through clothing is intimidating and can make an outfit looks too busy if styled wrong. It’s best to start with one sheer element at a time, like a bikini, blouse, skirt, or a dress to keep it simple. If rocking sheer clothing is a bit too bold for your taste, opt for transparent sandals or heels instead. They are definitely more subtle, but still makes a statement.

Turns out disco isn’t dead & we’re not mad at all! “The resurgence of disco is largely thanks to designers’ current fascination with the late '80s and early '90s," Lisa Aiken, fashion director at Net-A-Porter, explained. " After all, we all need a little bit of bling and glitz.

6. Feathers
Fed up of sequins? Feathers are the most stylish adornments this season. From plume embellished dresses at Prada, to fluffy yeti boots at Saint Laurent, anything can be updated with a flurry of feminine feathers. The retro 1920s trend has successfully made its way into mainstream in recent months due to new stylish trendy trim. The reality is, check patterns were traditionally used in Scotland and represented geographic regions, or districts.
